Our Lavender Honey is NOT infused Honey, it is the nectar that the bees collect and make into honey. Our trained beekeepers change out the beehive boxes as the lavender starts to come into bloom. This way there is no cross contamination of our Lavender Honey with other crops. The Beehive Boxes are removed for harvesting as the lavender starts to go dormant for the winter. This is when we do our harvesting. We specifically leave 20% of all Lavender Honey for the bees to feed on over the winter. The Lavender has health benefits for them as well. Don’t worry, we don’t starve our bees! The boxes filled with non-Lavender Honey that were removed earlier in the year are put back in place.
Our 100% Pure and Raw Lavender Honey is painstakingly crafted by our Master Beekeeper to insure sustainability of the bees and the farm. We are currently practicing Organic principles and are going thru the process however, we are not certified Organic at the moment.
We LOVE our bees and spend an enormous amount of time and effort caring for them. In fact, the bees are how we got started with lavender in the first place. Read our About Us section for the whole story. Our bees are like the family dog, they are well cared for and ALWAYS treated humanely. Our hives get winter coats to protect them and they have even been sheltered from the wind and rain.
